# What is EMF? EMF Camp is an event for makers, tinkerers, and anyone who is passionate about creating things. It runs every 2 years in Eastnor Deer Park here in the UK. This year it is running from Thursday July 16th to Monday July 20th. # Days -3 to 0 (Monday-Thurs) ![[9DEF808A-0037-47E9-8AAB-20DB78975E06_1_102_o.jpeg]] Photo: In we go! At the end of the 2024 event I found myself sitting around the Leeds Hackspace village socialising. As I am oft to do I was drawing on my ipad, one design (of a "Techno Vole") caught the eye of Jonty (one of EMF's founders) who suggested that I join "Design Team". > [!note] > Techno Voles are EMF related due to some Null Sector meta lore. The short version is that in 2024 we found a nest of voles in the area that we setup Null Sector in. We ended up consulting some vole experts who told us we would be fine to go ahead, the lore became that this family of voles loved techno and therefore lived in Null Sector. So, this year I find myself having spent a good percentage of the last two years working with design team on all the amazing work they do. What do design team do you ask? Well, basically if there's an element of design to it, we're involved. The last few days have been basically 8am to 9/10pm of hard work with amazing people. This is of course the best type of work. ![[7E4DBBA5-0828-4240-B18C-5A1FAE4B79D5_1_102_o.jpeg]] Photo: Flying the important flags Thursday has actually been the strangest day, I spent the morning walking around site helping to hammer poles into the ground and mounting road signs to them so that people can find where they are going. I'm actually now sat in the Robot Arms (the on site pub tent) typing this. It's almost a weird feeling that after 4 days of very hard (but fun) work I can now turn around and also enjoy the festival!
